CLASS
Outside of the standard gourmet coffee that produced by these regions,
BLACK DOT COFFEE also has access to the various classes of coffees that promote
healthy lifestyle, social responsibility, healthy international trade, etc. Depending on your
specific requirements and marketing strategies, these special coffees help to not only
support the future of coffee but the also the overall health and well-being of the people
and our global environment.

CERTIFIED ORGANIC COFFEE BEANS -
Organic coffee beans are coffee beans that have been produced without the use of
pesticides or herbicides and
an emphasis on recycling, composting, soil health, and protection of the environment.
This is both beneficial to both the producer and the
consumer. These are important aspects to sustain ability that are both cost effective and
socially responsible.

CERTIFIED FAIR TRADE COFFEE BEANS -
Fair trade coffee, or equal exchange coffee, is coffee that is traded by bypassing the
coffee trader and
therefore giving the producer (and buyer) higher profits. Fair trade coffee growers are
guaranteed a minimum "fair trade price" and if world coffee price rises above this floor
price, fair trade coffee farmers will be paid a premium above market price.

Coffee importers and roasters also agree to develop
direct, long-term trade relationships with fair trade coffee distributors bringing greater
commercial stability to an extremely unstable market.

BIRD FRIENDLY / SHADE GROWN COFFEE BEANS -
Shade grown coffee benefits song birds who use the coffee plant as a natural habitat,
reduces the need for fertilizers and herbicides, and promotes BIOS-diversification. Beyond
the benefit that shade can provide to migratory birds, shade grown coffee
often tastes better.

The shade has a similar effect on coffee as growing coffee at high altitudes. Both of these
factors slow down the growth of a coffee which results in the production of more sugars and
chemicals responsible for the perceived acidity in coffee.

Although there is no clear definition of sustainable farming, these coffees are grown in a
manner that is kind to the environment and its people resulting in COFFEE SUSTAIN
ABILITY.

These farms gives back as much to the land and people as it receives. It seeks
independence from non-renewable resources, using renewable resources when possible.
Sustainable farming also minimizes pollution, takes steps to care for the environment, and
cares for its employees via education programs, medical care for workers and decent wage
and working conditions.

BLACK DOT COFFEE is a proud to support these coffees and will help you develop a
portfolio leveraging these special, global programs.
